Max Landis recently revealed that Josh Trank will not take part in the sequel of Chronicle. According to Max, as Chronicle 2 writer, Josh could not be the director of the second movie because he is very busy with other film project.
"Josh is currently working on another project." Max said as reported by Digital Spy. "I was actually so. But ultimately i still prioritize Chronicle 2".
Josh Trank is currently busy with several superhero adaptation projects. Those promising project are Venom, The Red Star and the next Fantastic Four. So, it's not surprised if he eventually chose not to take the sequel of Chronicle.
Chronicle tells a story of three friends named Andrew (Dane DeHaan), Matt (Alex Russell) and Steve (Michael B. Jordan) who suddenly gets super powers after get out from a mysterious crater. Each of them have telekinesis power, invulnerability and flight ability.
Unfortunately those power gives bad impact to them. The trio began to lose the power of self control respectively. In the end, the long-established friendships even had to crack.
