U.S. military is already used to work together with Hollywood films. But they feel are not relevant to S.H.I.E.L.D. as told in the film.
"Are we working for SHIELD? We decided not to do anything (with The Avengers film)," says Phil Strub from U.S. Department of Defense as reported by Wired, Tuesday (05/08/2012).
"It's just getting to the point where the movie makes no sense," added Sturb.
He also explained that the latest U.S. military stealth fighter aircraft, F-22 Raptors and F-35 JSF has been digitally modified by studio. SHIELD helicarrier is not the actual aircraft that is provided by government.
Previously, U.S. Department of Defense lent F-22 Raptors to Iron Man movie. They also deployed a secret elite soldier who appeared in Act of Valor. More recently, U.S. secretary of Navy, Ray Mabus, appear as cameo in Battleship movie.
