Marvel Studios newest superhero movie, The Avengers has scored remarkable debut when it was first released on May 4. Featuring six strongest superhero on earth, The Avengers earned U.S. $ 200.3 million just in three days.
The question now is will this earnings record will be crossed by The Dark Knight Rises?
The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises is the most awaited movie around the world. Even a few months before its release, both film were already discussed by a lot of people on the internet.
The director of The Avengers, Joss Whedon seems doesn't care about competition his film with The Dark Knight. Even Whedon was deeply looking forward to the release of the last Christopher Nolan's Batman movie.
"Whatever the results are achieved by The Dark Knight Rising in the first week i'm still going to buy the tickets," said Whedon as reported Aceshowbiz, Friday (05/11/2012).
With $200 million earnings just in three days make The Avengers become the movie with biggest income during the summer in North America this year. For Saturday (05/04/2012) alone, the film earned U.S. $ 69 million in U.S only.
While the worldwide revenue for The Avengers has collected revenues of U.S. $ 641.8 million. Superhero movie Marvel has exceeded income of Captain America: The First Avenger ($ 364 million), Thor ($ 449 million), Iron Man ($ 585 million), and Iron Man 2 ($ 624 million).
