21 Jump Street: Funniest Film of the Year

As a cop, Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) are not so formidable. Indeed they are one of the most troubled cop you'll ever meet. However, because they face are cute and fresh, they are assigned as high school student undercover to catch a drug dealers.

Schmidt and Jenko themselves are used to be high school friend. However, both of them had different social areas. Schmidt was a nerd, while Jenko was popular student. The funny thing is when disguised as school student again, their positions was reversed. Schmidt is now considered as cool student by other students, while Jenko is considered as a weird boy. With this condition, the investigation is starting.



It's been a long time, i have not watched movie as funny as this movie. And, yes 21 Jump Street is a remake of TV series in 80s with stars like Holly Robinson, Peter DeLuise, Dustin Nguyen and Johnny Depp. Although i often say that Hollywood is lack of ideas because they seems try to remake anything that could be remake, 21 Jump Street was proved that remake movies not always disappointing.

21 Jump Street (1987)

This film was directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (Cloudy With A Chance of Meatball). With a powerful script by Michael Bacall (author of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World), 21 Jump Street is really entertaining movie from beginning to end. In collaboration with Jonah Hill, Bacall gives a hilarious adventure and very relatable police drama. Did not stop there, Bacall and Hill also parodied similar films to make this film so crazy so funny.



Jonah Hill that yesterday just got his first Oscar nomination in Moneyball was not undoubtedly about his acting ability in the world of comedy. Every moment in this film, Schimdt was displayed perfectly by Hill.

But, of course, what surprise from this film is Channing Tatum. As an actor who rely on his physical body seems can also play very good in comedy film. Theoretically, Tatum and Hill duet does not seem suitable. But, in fact Tatum can play very good and i can not imagine who else suitable to accompany Hill to play in this film.


21 Jump Street is too valuable to pass up. With a row of powerful comedians who come to enliven the film from Chris Parnell, Rob Riggle, Ice Cube to super short cameo from Johnny Depp, this film is very entertaining. So, lets go to the party and get drunk! Yeah!
