3D movies seems like to be some kind of trend in Hollywood. After the success of Avatar, seems there are a lot of directors want to follow James Cameroon success by make his films into 3D format. The news said that Paul W.S. Anderson (director of Resident Evil series) also have big plans beside his resident third sequel, Resident Evil : Afterlife. The most notable classic tale of "The Three Musketeers" will back to the big screen, this time in 3D.
Anderson will work with Resident Evil producer Jeremy Bolt and be working with an $80 million budget for this film. Anderson plans to keep Athos, Porthos, Aramis and Di'Artagnan in the 18th century but give a new story with more action and romance.
"We are definitely modernizing 'The Three Musketeers' without compromising the fun of shooting a period piece," said Anderson. "But in our film, corsets and feathered hats don't take center stage. Our version is rich in eye-popping action, romance and adventure."
One thing that can be noted is that everything Anderson is done so far has been modern day or futuristic. Is he really the right guy to do this film? Let's see how the movies become then....
Anderson hopes to start shooting The Three Musketeers sometime next year in France and Germany, with a tentative 2011 release being eyed. Some famous star officialy joined this film are Orlando Bloom and Milla Jovovich.
